Project Transcend held its second annual Holiday Outing on December 14 for transgender, gender nonconforming, and nonbinary (TGNCNB) clients to reconnect in person and share some camaraderie about how they are navigating the holidays.

On December 15, over 50 client families with more than 100 children attended GMHC’s annual Holiday Party, which featured an eagerly anticipated toy distribution.

For World AIDS Day on December 1, GMHC staff participated in events across New York City, embracing the theme of “Remember and Commit” to mark the observance’s 35th year.

GMHC staff and community members will gather to commemorate World AIDS Day with events including an “Out of the Darkness” evening on December 1.

GMHC kicked off the holiday season for our clients with a bountiful Thanksgiving meal distribution. Our Meals and Nutrition staff provided bags of tasty holiday-themed ingredients, supplemental gift cards, and a specially designed recipe book.

In welcome news to clients, GMHC has reopened our dining room for lunch twice a week, after having to suspend this beloved service due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Participation has grown rapidly since June, when the agency started serving lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
