Public Assistance (PA)

Those who have never had an HIV symptom and can’t become a HASA client may be eligible for Public Assistance through a Human Resources Administration Job Center. The PA monthly budget for an individual includes rental assistance, monthly cash benefit, Medicaid, and food stamp credit. Families receive a higher budget based on the number of members in the household. If you are HIV-positive, the job center that is providing you with Public Assistance needs to connect you to HS Systems to determine if you have HIV symptoms that make you eligible for HASA. If they determine that you are eligible for HASA, they are to make a referral to HASA for you.

We Won't Back Down!

Our promise to our clients and our community is to provide lifesaving work for people living with and affected by HIV. Will you help us keep up the fight?

2025 could bring major changes to GMHC, with uncertainties in government funding and an increase in those needing our services. To continue providing critical care and support, we set a goal of raising $90,000 for 2025 — and we’re already more than halfway there! Will you help us reach our 2025 goal today?
