The Trans Equity Webinar Series: Lucky Michaels

A Conversation with Lucky Michaels on the Origins of Trans-Specific Social and Support Services in NYC

Lucky Michaels is a Trans Activist and international speaker. Currently, she has over 20 years of working with trans-related agencies, including public speaking engagements and runaway and homeless youth and vulnerable populations.

Fifty anti-trans bills have already passed out of the 528 proposed nationwide. Visibility comes with unintended consequences of violence against trans people. In this webinar, we will look back at “the origins” of providing services geared explicitly towards runaway and homeless LGBTQ youth that gave us a glimpse into the future (our present). There will be images from Sylvia’s Place shelter and a discussion of those early days of visibility.

We will raffle (10) $15 Amazon e-gift cards to attendees who complete a survey!
