Safer Sex & Hook Ups

  • If you are HIV negative and engage in hookups frequently, PrEP might be right for you. Click here for more information on PrEP.
  • If you are HIV positive, it is always important to take your HIV medication consistently to keep viral load either suppressed or undetectable. Also continue to use condoms and other protective barriers, as other STIs are still a risk.

The CDC recommends that individuals engaging in frequent hookups get tested for HIV and STIs every 3 months. For more information on GMHC’s Testing Center, click here or call 212-367-1100 to set up an appointment with GMHC.
