House of Latex Project
The legendary House of Latex has existed within the House and Ball (H&B) community since 1989 and continues to evolve as our community grows and evolves as well. The H&B community experiences significant marginalization in society due to a myriad of issues, including racism and homophobia as well as lack of acceptance in formal work environments. As a prevention house, HOL is able to connect community members with resources to better their sexual health outcomes, and provides socio-culturally competent workshops surrounding HIV and other STDs. The project will continue its on-going efforts to conduct outreach at ball and other youth venues. HOL will continue to incorporate new and innovative approaches to prevention and safer sex messaging in order to ensure the longstanding benefit of our valued community and all the talented individuals that are apart of it.
