Ask GMHC

What volunteer opportunities are available for someone with limited mobility?

Question

GMHC has always been there for my friends who needed help. I've done the AIDS Walk in the past and I've loved it, but I can't get around as easily as I used to. Are there other ways for volunteers to help out? I'd appreciate it if you could let me know. And keep up the great work.

Answer

Thank you very much for your kind words and your generous offer. There are different ways to find out about volunteer opportunities at GMHC. We have weekly open houses on Wednesdays at 10:30am and 6:30pm here at 119 West 24th Street. You can also speak to someone in our Volunteer Center to find out more by calling 212-367-1030. Or check out the volunteer section of our Web site.

We're glad you've enjoyed AIDS Walk, and again we appreciate your offer and your interest. Feel free to call our Hotline at 800-243-7692 or 212-807-6655 if you need further information.

Take care,
The GMHC Hotline
