Corporate Contributions Policy
In seeking to provide services of the highest
quality, Gay Men's Health Crisis (GMHC) relies heavily
upon contributions from the private sector. Recognizing
that support from the corporate sector plays a critical
role in this process, GMHC has set forth the following
guidelines to establish a positive, ongoing dialogue with
funders and prospects from the business community.
- In accepting any support from a corporation GMHC will,
when applicable, list the corporation on its roster of funders,
or credit the corporation on publications or materials which are
made possible by the grant.
- Any grant to GMHC cannot compromise the agency's ability
to act as an independent advocate for people affected by
HIV/AIDS. While we value the partnership and advice of
our funders, GMHC's staff and Board of Directors have ultimate control over all GMHC activities.
- In accepting corporate support, GMHC does not endorse
or support the activities, products, or positions of any business;
will not be a part of any internal marketing of products or
services; and will not make any agency mailing lists available
for external use (an exception to this would be products licensed
by GMHC and jointly marketed, such as tee shirts at an event).
- To help ensure accuracy in public information, GMHC will
refer to the donor before using the organization's name and/or
logo on materials such as press releases. In turn, GMHC should
also be provided with the opportunity to review drafts of similar
materials or promotional pieces produced by the corporate supporter.
- GMHC reserves the right to refuse a corporate contribution
based upon the company's positions or standing on HIV/AIDS or
related issues.
